Go Dogs!!!

On Saturday we went to our first
Bulldog game as a family of four!

In years past we have always purchased season tickets,
but due to their "less than ideal schedule"...
two Friday games and a Thursday game...
we didn't get them this season.

If you follow our blog you know that we normally
do a full day of tailgating before.
Well...with a little one...we didn't go all out
like we have in the past...and I didn't get many pictures.

Before we headed out I had to get Lexie
her Bulldog attire. :)
I kept Landry's old shirts and turned this one

into a little dress for her.
Cut off the neck and sleeves, fold over the top,
do a straight stitch, run some ribbon through...
and voila...

Lexie's first time feeling grass...

and of course she wanted to eat it!

So we had to relocate her to the blanket. :)

Love this girl!

Since we didn't get our normal season tickets,
we had to give away our first born buy single game
tickets...to the lovely tune of $87!
Yup...$87 to watch them get killed.
We are thinking of it as a donation...
think we can write it off?

(You're welcome Dave and Brian! ;) )

Lexie and Chad...she loved the game!

C'mon Dogs!!!!

My two favorite future Bulldogs!

The game wasn't the best...
well...honestly...
I'm not sure you could really call it a game. :(
We still had fun with friends, family,
and our first game as a family of four!

Last Game of the Season

Two weeks ago we celebrated the end of the Bulldog's football season. The game was an early start time...12:30...so that meant we had to change up our tailgating routine. You know we like to get there early...because we are super cheap and won't buy a tailgate pass...so that means we have to beat the "parking crew"...which means 4 hours before game time! Yup, we were tailgating at 8:00 in the morning. Nothing says true dedication like an early morning tailgate! :)

Our friend Brian took on the role this season of coordinating the menus for each of our tailgates...and I have to say...we saved the best for last! We had a full-on breakfast burrito bar which was amazing and delicious!

Gotta have warm tortillas...

Add in the chorizo...made by my hubby...

and of course...you have to top it off with a bloody mary...or mimosa!

Amelia was awake and ready to party!

And in case you think we were the only crazy people there at 8:00 in the morning...you'd be mistaken!

"Cheese!" Landry has LOVED tailgating this season...it's true. Every Saturday he wakes up and asks if we are going to the "tayogate." If we tell him that there isn't a game he says, "Yes der is...I go to da Boodogs, Mommy!"

Believe it or not it was a WARM game...like really warm...70 degrees warm! We were dressed for some chilly weather so our seats in the sun were nice and toasty!

I love this picture that Jake took of us...our sweet family...cheering on the Bulldogs.

Throughout the season Landry has become quite the fan. He knows when to cheer for the team, claps when they score, yells, "Go Dogs!" when the crowd is excited...and loves to point out random details...like the Carl's Jr. inflatable star, the "biiiig t.v." - a.k.a the scoreboard, and one of his favorites...the ceiling fans in the press box - yes, he can see the ceiling fans in the press box from the other side of the field! This game he was also very interested in the band and would let us know every time he heard the band. Yup. Every. Single. Time. :)

A highlight of the game is going to visit Nawnie and Papa at their seats. He asks every game...and reminds us before the game...that Nawnie and Papa are going to be at the "big game."

Since the game was so hot...and the Bulldogs were KILLING the Airforce...we left shortly after halftime and continued our tailgate...while watching the game on t.v. When the game ended Landry stood and waved good-bye to all of the fans heading home after an awesome Bulldog victory!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...I LOVE our tailgating tradition! I will admit that I grumble each morining when we are getting things loaded up and I think about the fact that I "lose" one day of my weekend...but once we get there...it is so worth it. I love the fact that we have a designated time doing something as a family and making memories with friends. Here are some favorites pics of other tailgates that didn't make the blog...but the memories are priceless!

Tailgate buddies...Jonah and Landry! They are about 2 mnoths apart...love these two!

Mid-season my mom bought Landry a pair of sneakers...or "running shoes" as Landry calls them. During one tailgate Frank raced/ran with Landry for a good 30 minutes...putting his "running shoes" to good use!

Ready, set...

Go!

Just so you know...there were no cars driving...it was during the tailgate so there is no traffic...and Landry knows that you don't run in a parking lot! :)

Of course there is nothing sweeter that a father and son heading to a game to cheer on their team!

Another season has come and gone. I cannot wait for next season and all of the adventures that it will bring. Until then...GO DOGS!!!

Fresno State Football!!!!

By now you should know about my love for Fresno State Football! Yes, it is a love. I really do love to tailgate, hang out, watch the people, watch a little bit of the game, watch a lot of the cheerleaders, eat junk food...well, you get the picture. Our group of friends get together and tailgate for all of the home games. I know, you might be thinking, "How cool...they have a tailgate pass." Nope. We don't. We are the people that, no joke, set up our tailgate at 2:00 in the afternoon for a 7:00 game. Why? Well, if you get there before the "parking lot patrol" you can park for free and set up shop for free. :o) Each year the set-up gets a little bit more elaborate. I'm so thankful that the guys don't mind that I am normally the only wife that comes...and I am slowly working on having us be completely color coordinated, table covers, cute plates, etc. I have to break them in slow so I don't get the boot. :o)

As you can see...Landry loves to tailgate, too! We have been bringing him since he was born. He was about 6 months old at his first tailgate...and I think it is safe to say that he is a pro at it now.

My nana got him his very own little blue chair that is perfect for the tailgate. When the guys were setting up the tv Landry pulled his chair right on over, climbed up, and munched on some yummy popcorn. Have I mentioned how much I love this little boy?

This time Landry got an extra special treat...he got to see "his baby," Amelia! If you remember, Landry first met Amelia about 2 months ago. He loved her then and he is still in love with her!

Right when Amelia...and her parents...got there he had to see "his baby." Yes, that is what he calls her...all the time...even at home. He will see a picture of her and say, "Dats my baby. Dats Amewia. I see my baby, Mommy?" Amelia slept for most of the tailgate and Landry checked on her every once in awhile to make sure she was ok. When she woke up he couldn't stay away!

He would rock her seat, try and get anything she might need, and gave her gentle pats. "Wook...baby's feet wight dere!"

Landry and Amelia at their first tailgate together!

After 5 hours of tailgating...it was game time!!!!

As you can see...it was a packed house. ;o)

Landry likes to spend most of the game walking up and down the row of seats. Thankfully there aren't very many people in our section so he has plenty of room to roam. This game he thought it was fun to run his hands along the benches as he walked. The end result...hands that look like this:

Right after I took this picture he looked at his hands and immediately started to cry.
"My hands aw dirty...my hands aw yucky!"
Thankfully I always have wipes on hand. :o)

Here's to another great season of fun, friends, food...oh... and football!!!!

***Fun Fact #1: Landry's hat is an adult size...yes, our child has a giant head!
***Fun Fact #2: Tailgating is my version of camping! :o)

Go Dogs!

Yesterday was the first home game for the Bulldogs football team this year. We  I LOVE Fresno State football games...and we I especially love a good tailgate! There is something about the energy, food, friends...preferably good weather like yesterday...that I fall in love with. This year we got season tickets...and I know that I am way more excited about them than Chad...I know, you're shocked...Chad isn't excited about something...it's true! :o)

Last season we took Landry to his first Bulldog game...you can read about it here. This year we I am hoping to be able to take him to all of the games. As always, Landry was such a tooper...and of course, the main attraction!

Chad and Landry...Landry has his "game face" on!

Let me help out with the game, guys!

Me and Handsome!

Of course the best part of tailgating is the food...someone thought he was in heaven!

Landry even got to meet a real bulldog...Bruce! Apparently Bruce is the grandson of the bulldog that was on the field for the games during the David Carr years. Always gotta love the fun facts you learn!

Giving Jake pounds...I think Landry thinks that Jake might have food in his hand! :o)

Us girls...me, Sheri, and Kelley. Normally I am the only girl at the tailgate/games so I was so excited when we pulled up and the girls were there, too!

Landry had the most fun when we threw him in the truck bed while we got everything cleaned up. He ran all over, stomping his feet...and of course, tried to throw everything out of the truck that we kept putting in!

Landry had the best ride to the game...daddy's shoulders!

Family picture in the game!
Landry and I spent most of the game going up and down the stairs and walking around...which was ok because it wasn't the greatest game ever. He made friends with everyone around us...and everyone fell in love with our little man. One gentleman LOVED that his name was Landry! "What a great name for a football fan...he's going to be on that field someday...and we will nickname him THE COACH!" he said. I thought it was too funny...a complete stranger already excited about my son's future!

Just for fun...here are some "then and now" pics to show how much Little Man has changed since last year:

Here's to a great season with lots of fun, food, friends...and hopefully WINS!!!!
