Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Yesterday was Chad's 35th birthday...yup...he is now getting closer to 40 and farther away from 30! :o) If you aren't on Facebook and you missed this picture...here he is as a young high school basketball player!

While Daddy was at work we made him a "birfday" cake. Landry chose everything for the cake
"aw by himsewf!"

Landry was so excited to use the "big mixer." First step...dumping the mix into the bowl...
that's the way we bake around here. :o)

Then comes the oil and water...

Mommy added the eggs and then it was time to watch the mixer do it's job!

"I need to tir it, Mommy!"

Then it was time for our cake to bake...and for Landry to take a nap! :o)
Once he woke up the cakes had cooled and it was time to frost!

"Can I ha some?"

"What are you looking at?"

After frosting comes the "pinkles!" You can see that Landry is staying consistent with his theory that all of the "pinkles" should be together...in one spot!

The happy "pinkler!'

"Do I have something on my face?"

Chad decided that he wanted to go to sushi for dinner...it was like it was my birthday, too! :o)
So, we headed to our FAVORITE sushi place...

Landry loves it, too! Even though he doesn't get sushi, he is a huge fan of the miso soup, salad, terriyaki chicken...and CHOPSTICKS!!!

He is quite a "pro" with the chopsticks!

After dinner it was time for cake with "fire" as Landry says. He couldn't wait for me to turn on the "fire!"

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Chad had some help blowing out his candles...so much so that even some of the "pinkles" got blown off the cake!

We hope you know how much we love you, Daddy...Chad!

Two Wineries, One Wedding and a Ton of Fun!

So, I am a bit behind on my blogging...what else is new! I have been debating about posting this blog or not, but it was such a fun a weekend that I couldn't help but share it with everyone. Chad and I had the honor and pleasure of spending 4th of July weekend...which by the way is our 7 year mark... on the coast with our closest friends as we celebrated the marriage of our dear friends Pat and Jen! We kicked off the weekend by stopping in Paso Robles for some wine tasting. So much fun!!!!Here's the group at my favorite winery...Malloy O'Neill...we only went to 2...but they were the best! Then we met up with some other friends and had dinner in Avila at The Custom House. Big thanks to Julie the Cruise Director for organizing that...he knows who he is! :o) Saturday we relaxed in Avila before the big wedding. Oh, did I mention the wedding? Ya...it was AMAZING!!! Pat and Jen are two of the sweetest, kindest people we know. Their wedding was absolutely beautiful...weather was perfect, setting amazing...oh ya, did I mention the candy bar. Yup, they had a candy bar with a whole assortment of candies you could bag up and take with you...those were a delicious snack for the drive home. Are they not the most beautiful couple? We all had a blast dancing the night away, sharing laughs, bringing back some "old school" dance moves and of course taking a TON of pictures. All in all, it was an amazing weekend! We are so excited to go on our next "group trip" in August when we celebrate our friend Frank's 40th birthday on a three day cruise to Mexico.

One of many more to come!

Wow, it is crazy to think that this Sunday, Chad and I will be celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary! In some ways it seems like we have been married forever...probably because we have been together for almost seven years...and yet, every once in a while I find myself signing my "old" name. This year has been incredible to say the least. Of course it all started on June 21st at Wolf Lakes, in front of our friends and family, where we were introduced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Chad Lofgren. Then we went on an amazing honeymoon to Cozumel, Mexico. Oh, how we wish we could go back! From then, we settled into our new home...which wasn't as easy as I had anticipated it...oh, well. We continued on to celebrate many "firsts" as husband and wife...new holiday traditions, household chores, job responsibilities, friendships, and so on. We have shared many times of joy, frustration, laughter, and most of all love. So, before I get too sappy, here is a little collection of photos from our first year together as husband and wife...I love you, Babe!
**Total side note...I hadn't realized until now how many costume parties we went to this year...CRAZY!
