5 Months

Hi Everyone...it's Landry here!

So, you have probably heard already...I am 5 months old...yup, I know, it's crazy but true! Dad says it's time that I start making a retirement plan. I tell him I plan on taking over the job of the E*Trade baby!
We all know what it means when I get a month older...mom has to pull out the camera. I think she's a little crazy with that thing...but I have to say, she is very entertaining. I love to pretend like I don't even know she's there...or better yet, make a really cute face, and then right before the camera takes my picture...change it to something goofy like this: Here's one that made mom really happy:
I know...I'm pretty cute!

Before I show you any more I have to share the latest info with you. So, here are some of my favorite things to do:
  • roll anywhere and everywhere I can get to
  • suck on my thumb
  • watch t.v...yup, its true...I love some good ol' college football games...or racing with my papa!
  • cooing, talking, screaching and laughing
  • playing in my crib until mom or dad come get me in the morning...did I mention that I can get anywhere and everywhere in there? And while I travel around in there...I like to leave a little dribble of something behind. I don't think mom is so fond of it!
  • sleeping, sleeping, and more sleeping
  • anything that makes mom and dad laugh...which is pretty easy to do...I think they think I'm the greatest thing ever...can you blame them?

Have I told you how big I have gotten? About a week ago or so I had my last appointment with Dr. Hubbard and I was a tiny, little 12 pounder. Now, just two weeks later...I'm a whopping 14 pounds! I think it is the rice cereal mom tries to feed me. Have I mentioned that I love to eat? Yup, I will try to eat anything and everything...even my lion!
Well, that's about enough for now. I think mom is working on something for me that is black and has wings. Hmmm...who knows what that lady is up to! Until next time, I send you lots of love, hugs...and slobber!

The "Peanut" and Rice Cereal

On Friday, Landry had his 4 month check-up and shots...yes, he is almost 5 months old. Once again Dr. Hubbard was impressed with all of his talents and his extreme alertness...and of course, he won over the office staff with his smiles and dimples! Here are his current stats:

Height: 24 inches

Weight: 12 pounds, 7 oz.

Yup,we still have a tiny, little peanut! He is only in the 5th percentile for his age...but again Dr. Hubbard assured me that he was doing great...just small. She was amazed at the amount that he eats each day and even said that we could start doing rice cereal from a spoon. So, here is some footage from our first attempt.

What do you think...more practice maybe? I think so!

Where Did He Go?

Setting:
One Friday evening in the Lofgren family room...Chad and Kristin are relaxing on the couch after a long week at work. Chad is watching one of the 5 billion football games that will be on for the weekend. Kristin is on Facebook...as usual! Landry is playing on his playmat...having a grand time batting, grabbing, and strangling the jungle animals that dangle above him.
Kristin: Um...Babe...where is Landry?
Chad: What do you mean?
Kristin: Um...I mean...where is the baby...he was just on the playmat...what happened to him?
This is when Chad and Kristin discover that their adorable little child cannot only roll over...but in this case...he can roll away!
Okay, so enough of my very dramatic, suspense filled play...I know I should have been a playwright instead of a teacher. Ha! :o)
Yes, we did find our child...right here...
What...you can't tell where that is at? Let me zoom out for you...
Yup...that's right...our child rolled right on under the coffee table. Pretty tricky, huh?
Well, it did give his mother a brief state of panic...thinking..."How did I lose my 4 month old in my own living room?" As you can see that panic quickly went away and as usual...what did I do...well the only logical thing of course...grabbed the camera! As you can see...he was quite happy during his time under the coffee table...not sure what he was so focused on...but clearly, it was very serious under there!
And just so you know...yes, the wet spot...all drool baby...100% drool. Think we need to start wearing a permanent bib or what?

It's How We Roll

I hope that you can sense just one ounce of my excitement...are you feeling it...mmhmm...such a proud mommy I am! If the title of the post didn't give it away...Landry rolled over for the first time today! I know...amazing, right...ok...so apparently you aren't quite as excited as I am. Whatever.

Every morning Chad wakes up Landry before he goes to work, I feed him, and then I lay him on a blanket in the hallway, outside of the bathroom while I finish getting ready. So, this morning I laid him down on his back. I'm finishing up my hair and make-up, talking to him, he's cooing back at me. Then I turn around...what do I find...he is on his tummy. Wait a minute...tummy...I left you on your back little man. I have never been so excited and so bummed all at once. He rolled over for thefirst time...and I missed it...I was doing my hair! How lame is that? Totally lame...that's what it is. So, trying to make up and earn back my "Mother of the Year" award...is that snickering I hear...I grab the Flip and try to get him to do it again. Here's what I got...

Sorry...the video was too large to upload to Blogger...darned HD video!

And then there was this...

By the way...Chad doesn't think this really counts as rolling over...whatever!

Houdini

It appears that we have Houdini in the Lofgren household. Here is a picture of what Landry normally looks like while he is sleeping...this photo was taken when he was only a month old. Notice how he is swaddled so neatly in his SwaddleMe, laying in his sleep positioner so he can't roll around. And then there is this...
This is how I found him the other morning. Yup, arms out, leg out...and the creme de la creme...completely out, off and sideways on the sleep positioner. What do you think...is he trying to let me know that he no longer needs the sleep positioner or the SwaddleMe?
