Little Peanut

Yesterday Landry had his 2 month check-up with Dr. Hubbard. I was very anxious about how he would react to his shots but so curious to see how much he has grown. In our eyes he seems so big...but, we found out yesterday that we really have a "little peanut!" Here are his 2 month stats:

Weight: 10 pounds, 10 ounces (10-25th percentile)
Length: 22.5 inches (10-25th percentile)

So, to everyone who tells us, "He is so tiny"...apparently you are right! :o) Dr. Hubbard was very impressed with how alert he is and his intense interest in everything around him. He was so brave during his shots. Here are some pictures of our happy, healthy, "little peanut!"

Showing off his Tweety Bird band-aids that he got from his shots!

2 Months

Hi Everyone...its me, Landry!

Well, can you believe that I am already 2 months old...I know, I'm getting up there in age already. Mommy says I need to slow it down a bit. Here I am with my lion...don't I look like such a big boy?

As you can see, I am working very hard to learn how to suck my thumb...I almost have it down! Here are some things I can do now:
1. Smile:I love to give mommy lots of smiles when she is changing my diaper...and whenever I feel like it...I don't like to be told when to smile, so you never know when I'm going to flash you some gum.
2. Hold my head up: I'm still working on this a bit but I am getting better each day. I love it when mommy and daddy hold me over their shoulder. I sit straight up...so much so that my Auntie Kaitlin says I look like a seal.
3. "Talk": I love to grunt, coo, cry, scream and make all kinds of noises. If mommy and daddy are talking to me I like to join in the conversation...and I ALWAYS have to have the last word.
4. Suck my thumb: I have been working very hard on learning how to get my thumb in my mouth. I don't really know why but sometimes it just shows up outta no where. When it does, I snatch it up in my mouth. I am really good at bringing my fist to my mouth...but that ol' thumb just hides from me.
5. Sleeping: This is one of mommy's favorites...sleeping through the night. I have been sleeping through the night for almost 3 weeks now. Don't worry though...every once in awhile I call an early morning meeting with mom. I think she really loves our early morning chats...she's just afraid to admit it.

Well, that's all I have for you this month. Mommy has been very busy taking lots of pictures. She and daddy love on me all day long. Everyone is always telling me how strong, handsome, and smart I am. Here is a picture that shows a bit of my determination to get that thumb of mine.

See you next month...love, Landry!

p.s. If you can't read it...my shirt says, "Lock up your daughters"...my Auntie Kaitlin got it for me. She is the best Auntie EVER!!!!!

God Bless America!

Is there really any holiday better than 4th of July? In my opinion...no. I L-O-V-E the 4th of July. It has always been one of my favorite holidays...the fun, friends, food and fireworks...and 8 years ago it was made even better. For those of you that don't know, Chad and I went on our first "date" on 4th of July...8 years ago! The reason I say "date" is because it was actually a day long trip to Pismo...all orchestrated by his cousin Kelli. If you know Kelli, it makes perfect sense...for those of you that don't...yes, it was a bit crazy...and it wasn't until we were already on the road that I finally thought, "What am I going to do if I don't like this guy? This is going to be the LONGEST day ever." Well, I guess we know how it all turned out!
Here are some pictures of our fun-filled day at our sweet friends' house.

Me and Landry starting the day with some pool time.

It isn't the 4th of July without some patriotic sweets...aka...mini strawberry pizzas!

Our sweet family getting ready to watch the fireworks. If you are admiring the "bling" on my finger...yes, its a binkie...all the "cool" moms are sporting "Binkie Bling" these days! :o)
Just another shot...I love the expression on Landry's face!
Here are the fireworks...so you know...this picture was taken about half-way through "The Show"...needless to say, we had a TON of fireworks.
Landry watching the fireworks

The fireworks begin...

WARNING: The following is a perfect example of what NOT to do with fireworks! :o) You've gotta love the craziness of Jake, Brian and fireworks!
Jake: "Brian, make sure that your arms are WAY out there."
Brian: "Oh, don't worry...they are way out there."

The annual "Sparkler" picture
Chad singing "God Bless America" to Landry...as you can see...neither the loud noises, screaming kids, music, nor flashing lights could keep our little man awake.
Another 4th of July has come and gone... I am already looking forward to next year's celebration!

Zen Monkeys

So, our very sweet friends, Pat and Jen, bought Landry his bouncer seat at our Couple's Shower. About 4 weeks ago I decided to put Landry in it for the first time. At that time he was still a little small for it...and I didn't realize that it reclined back...so he would just slouch down into a big ball at the bottom. Well, about 2 weeks went by and I decided to try it again. That is when I realized the seat reclined back...duh...and my small child could sit in it without ending up in a big ol' blob. Chad and I have now come to call it the "Zen Monkey" seat and I think this video explains why...

Some of you might know that yesterday was a rough one at the Lofgren household. Our normally happy, mellow, peaceful little man...didn't exist. Not even "Zen Monkey" could help us out. Thank goodness our wonderful little man is back today!

Another One Bites the Dust!

It is kind of crazy to think that 2 years ago today, Chad and I were exchanging vows and celebrating with friends and family at our wedding. Fast forward and now we have a mortgage payment, two cats, two car payments and the most beautiful baby boy!!!!

In so many ways it doesn't seem possible that we have been married for two years already and yet it seems like we have been together forever...in a good way! :o) I continue to wake up each morning, so thankful for the fact that I have the most amazing and supportive husband in the world. Most people who know us probably scratch their heads thinking, "How in the world do those two do it?" Yes, we are complete opposites in sooooooo many ways...but in all the others... we pretty much see eye-to-eye.

Here is a look at our past year together...so many great memories were made with those that we love. I cannot wait to see what the next year brings our way...as we begin our life as a family of THREE!

Happy Father's Day!

Hi Everyone...Landry here! I wanted to send a special "shout-out" to the BEST daddy in the entire world! I think that my shirt about says it all...my mom loves buying me all kinds of clothes and then taking pictures of me...she thinks I'm pretty darn cute! You all know that today is Father's Day and I have to say that I think that I am so lucky to have the best daddy ever. He always gives me lots of love, rocks me when I get upset, finds my binkie when I need it and he takes really good care of Mommy! I can't wait until I can walk and run and he can show me how to play basketball, snowboard, and all kinds of fun things...even some crazy things...shhh...don't tell Mom. Here are some pictures of me and my dad. Its easy to see that he thinks I'm the greatest thing in the world!

I also want to wish some very special men a Happy Father's Day...
Me and Papa
Me and Poppie
and Me and Great Papa...this is Daddy's Papa!
Here's what I made Daddy for Father's Day. Mommy thinks it is pretty cute and hopes that Daddy likes it as much as she does. She tried to paint my feet red...that didn't work out so well...so instead she smooshed them on a red stamp pad to make my footprints. Like Daddy says, she's kind of crazy...but it's easier to go with her ideas than it is to fight them! :o) I love you, Daddy!!!

Gotcha!

In my previous post I shared that Landry has started to smile when he is happy. Just this afternoon I was able to catch it in a video while he was playing on his playmat...enjoy!
